St. Albans Township/Village of Alexandria Merger Commission

December 1, 2023

Present: Jeff Baer, Sean Barnes, Dawn Burton, Ann Lodder, Cari Meng, Elaine Robertson, Dean Schiller,
Stephanie Taylor, Ben Zanks
Absent: Craig Thorpe

The first meeting of the Merger Commission was called to order at 9 a.m., per Ohio Revised Code 709.46. In the absence of St. Albans Township Fiscal Officer Bridgett Reeves by 9:03 a.m., who also did not respond to the commission’s email of Nov. , the commission was sworn in by Village of Alexandria Police Marshall Dan Bunting.

“Pursuant to Ohio Revised Code 709.46 and decided by the electorate of St. Albans Township and the Village of Alexandria, as certified by the Licking County Board of Elections on Nov. 21, I hereby, as Marshall of the Village of Alexandria, certify the Merger Commission to study the issue of merging the township and village. Their term shall run from Dec. 1, 2023 to 90 days before the 2024 General Election. Commission members will be Jeff Baer, Sean Barnes, Cari Meng, Stephanie Taylor and Craig Thorpe representing the Village of Alexandria and Dawn Burton, Ann Lodder, Elaine Robertson, Dean Schiller and Ben Zanks representing the Township of St. Albans. At this time I appoint Jeff Baer to serve as temporary chairperson pending election by this body of permanent officers.”

Jeff Baer made a motion to appoint Cari Meng and Ben Zanks as meeting chairs. Dawn Burton seconded.

Jeff Baer made a motion to appoint Ann Lodder as secretary. Sean Barnes seconded.

Jeff Baer made a motion to appoint Dean Schiller as treasurer. Ann Lodder seconded.

Jeff Baer made a motion to hold regular meetings on the third Wednesday of the month, beginning Dec. 20 at 7 p.m.,
pending a quorum.

Ann Lodder made motion to adjourn, Dean Schiller seconded. Meeting adjourned at 9:06 a.m.
